High Platte River flows force postponement of LPRCA Kayak Tour

The LPRCA Kayak Tour scheduled for June 15th has been postponed to a make up date of July 21st. Platte River flows at Louisville peaked over flood stage at 75,000 cfs. Median flows for this time of year are 6,500 cfs. Papio-Missouri River NRD access areas on the Platte and Elkhorn Rivers remained closed to the public. The public is advised to stay off of the Platte River until flows subside considerable as the river flows will be extremely fast, unpredictable and carrying large amounts of very large debris.
